11-30-10 Duck season second phase will open on the 11th of December. Our private lands fields first shoot on the 12th is sold out. If the whistlers show up in great numbers we will begin offering Wednesday afternoon shoots on the private fields as well.

11-15-10 Duck season opens next weekend. We will be offering public water hunts on Lake Okeechobee by airboat during the first phase. Our duck hunts can be combined with an afternoon or evening snipe hunt as well to complete your day.

Our private lands fields we will start flooding soon to prepare for our first shoot on December 12th. The private land shoots can be combined with an afternoon of dove shooting (limited numbers) as well to complete your day.

09-09-2010 We seem to have an early migration this year making it to South Florida and our numbers are building on our areas. Early teal season is Saturday, September 25th through Wednesday, September 29th. We are planning to have shoots depending on the numbers. These hunts will be arranged on short notice for limited numbers of shooters. If you have an interest in participating in our early teal shoots, please contact us to get on our call list.

Regular duck season is November 20th through November 28th then a break the re-opens December 11th through January 30th. We will be hunting on private lands as well as public water during the first phase but won't flood our planted areas until the opening of second phase.

09-06-10 Duck season is just around the corner. Here are a few pictures of the progress on the new area. Just add water!

06-30-10 It' been quit a while since we updated this page. I'm sure everyone has noticed the new site. We have completely re-designed our site. We have turned over the site to Kimia for design and updates. This should allow for more updates.

About duck hunting: We are building a brand new duck area for this season. We currently have all of the dikes, water controls and pumps in place and have started work in the fields in preparation for planting. The field is 50 acres divided into three cells. We are planting half in chufa and half in Japanese millet. We are field fencing the entire area to keep out the hogs and keep the alligators to a minimum for our retrievers.

This will be our best field ever. We have twelve elevated islands with elephant grass planted for cover on each island. Every island will allow for up to three shooters. We have full water control for both intake as well as discharge. There are no ditches or canals near any island to allow for easy retrieval.

This is by far our largest and most complex duck project to date. We have had larger areas but not with this level of control.

We are planting for early teal again this season. Last season planting worked out excellent except the teal didn't find it until the night before the last day. We only hunted it the morning and evening on the last day. It was fantastic. We hunted around fifteen people that day with full limits in literally just a few minutes on both hunts.
They have not set the dates for early teal as of yet. I'm sure it will be the last week of September.

08-06-09 Duck season is just around the corner. Our duck areas are planted and look great. This season we are planning on having private lands early teal hunts. This will be our first time on this new area for early teal. Early teal season is September 26th thru the 30th, 2009. We have two areas planted with Japanese millet. One of these areas is ninety (90) acres pictured below. The millet is headed and looks excellent and the water level is perfect as well. If the teal locate it, it will be interesting. We will keep you updated.

The chufa fields for regular season are planted and look excellent as well.

01-21-09 Duck hunting on our private areas is unfortunately over for the season as the black bellies have left us. Our last two hunts both on Wednesday and Sunday resulted in a refund to our clients due to no ducks. They left for the year in the same manner which they arrived (OVERNIGHT). When they come they really come and when they leave they really leave. This year ended the same as last with the ducks leaving overnight.

01-12-09 Duck hunting yesterday was GOOD!

The numbers of birds were Medium. Good numbers of Black Bellied Whistling ducks.

The shoot yesterday was excellent to poor depending on your area. We had 50% of our clients limit out on whistlers while some (two) blinds never fired a shot. Yesterday's weather played a major factor in the hunt. We had a FULL moon which is never great for shooting whistlers. This was followed by heavy fog for the first hour and a half then a bright clear blue bird day without a cloud in the sky. Since the whistlers move mostly at daylight the majority of the ducks which move into the area never arrived. Several of our clients said they could hear the whistlers but couldn't see them.

Due to the fog they seemed to follow a specific flight path avoiding several of the blinds. We had two blinds harvest no ducks and the blinds 250 yards in front of them limit out on whistlers. The blinds which never fired a shot both limited out the previous weekend.

01-09-09 Duck hunting Wednesday was EXCELLENT!

The numbers of birds were HIGH. Large numbers of Black Bellied Whistling ducks.

Duck hunting on this up and coming Sunday is again expected to be EXCELLENT!

Currently we are FULL for this Sunday and next Wednesday's shoots.

01-05-09 Duck hunting yesterday was EXCELLENT!

The numbers of birds were HIGH. Large numbers of Black Bellied Whistling ducks.

Our 16 clients attempted to harvest their limits but failed due to shooting ability. All clients had the opportunity to harvest their limits of whistlers but ended up short with 74 birds all Black-Bellied Whistlers.

Our next available shoot is next Sunday as our Wednesday shoot is FULL.

01-01-09 Duck hunting Wednesday was EXCELLENT!

The numbers of birds were VERY HIGH. Extreme numbers of Black Bellied Whistling ducks.

We had 8 clients harvest FULL LIMITS (48 birds) of only Black-Bellied Whistlers.

Sorry, but no pictures.

Duck hunting on this up and coming Sunday is again expected to be EXCELLENT!

12-29-08 Duck hunting yesterday was EXCELLENT!

The numbers of birds were VERY HIGH. Extreme numbers of Black Bellied Whistling ducks.

We had 10 clients harvest FULL LIMITS (60 birds) of only Black-Bellied Whistlers.

Duck hunting on this up and coming Sunday is again expected to be EXCELLENT!

We will be holding a Wednesday afternoon shoot for a limited number of hunters on this area and the shoot is expected to be EXCELLENT!

Persons interested should contact us asap

12-27-08 The black bellied tree ducks have finally arrived on our private areas by the thousands. Our first shoot will be tomorrow morning (Sunday) with the following shoot next Wednesday afternoon.

12-01-08 We still are not shooting our private areas due to low bird numbers. Don't really understand why but that's hunting. We will begin our public water hunting on Lake Okeechobee and the Everglades by airboat starting next Monday December 8th. We have been scouting and the numbers are excellent in some areas. This wet front should make a difference on all areas for duck hunting.

11-20-08 We have decided to cancel our opening weekend hunts. We don't have the numbers of birds for an excellent hunt. The STA's are loaded with birds and building daily. The birds are arriving on the lake in good numbers as of yesterday. Our thoughts are that all of the shooting on the lake, the STA's and the Everglades will scatter out the birds. If this occurs and we leave them alone on our areas for a week to feed we will have excellent shoots next weekend. Our areas are in excellent condition. They are all flooded and the food is unbelievable. Now all we need is the push.

11-18-08 Duck season opens this weekend. We don't have the large numbers of ducks as of yet for this weekend. Hopefully they will show up with these fronts. We are flooding the fields in preparation. We will update as soon as we can.

11-03-08 Duck season is almost here. Season begins on Saturday the 22nd of November. We will be shooting both Saturdays and Sundays this season. The fields are in excellent shape. We will begin flooding our Saturday field this week. We are seeing good number of ducks in the area and with the weather we are having everything is looking great.

07-20-08 Duck hunting is just around the corner. We are currently planting all of the fields we utilize for our duck and dove hunts. We somehow managed to get the second area finished and planted. We will be shooting twice the area as last season. It should be a great season.

01-31-08 Duck hunting this year has come to a close. Our last weekend was slow. The concentrations of ducks managed to eat all of the groceries we provided and left the area.

Due to this we will not be holding our second annual youth hunt as planned. It would not be a positive experience for the kids. There just are no ducks on the area. We are sorry for this but the ducks are out of their food source.

This season was by far the best season we ever experienced. The numbers of ducks remained high for the duration of the season. We harvested thousands of ducks on the area. Next year will be even better as we will have the second area developed which will give us a 100% increase in acreage.

If you have a few moments, please read the season reports posted below for our entire season.

See you next season!

01-20-08 Duck hunting today was EXCELLENT!

The numbers of birds were VERY HIGH. Extreme numbers of Black Bellied Whistling and Florida Mottled.

We harvested Black-Bellied Whistlers, Blue Winged Teal, Florida Mottled and Ring-Necks. The largest species of ducks harvested were Black-Bellied Whistlers. Our hunters all limited on ducks or had the opportunity. The weather was beautiful for ducks except for the high winds (temp's in the lower 60's with a light rain and cloudy).

01-17-08 Duck hunting yesterday was EXCELLENT!

The numbers of birds were VERY HIGH. Extreme numbers of Black Bellied Whistlers.

Duck hunting on this up and coming Sunday is again expected to be EXCELLENT!

We will be holding our last Wednesday afternoon shoot for a limited number of hunters on this area next Wednesday January 23rd. We will also be holding a morning and afternoon shoot on the last Sunday, January 27th. Persons interested should contact us asap..

We are currently fully booked for this Sunday, January 20th.

01-13-08 Duck hunting today was EXCELLENT!

The weather was beautiful for ducks (temp's in the upper 60's, light wind but foggy). Some of our clients with full limits of ducks:

Our hunters today harvested 131 ducks. Only 25 ducks short of their 156 duck limit. Duck hunting on this up and coming Sunday is again expected to be EXCELLENT!

We will be holding a Wednesday afternoon shoot for a limited number of hunters on this area. Persons interested should contact us asap..

01-10-08 Duck hunting yesterday was EXCELLENT!

The numbers of birds were VERY HIGH. Extreme numbers of Black Bellied Whistling ducks.

We only harvested Black-Bellied Whistlers and Florida Mottled. Our hunters all limited on ducks or had the opportunity. The weather was warm for ducks (temp's in the 80's, light wind but blue skies).

This was our first Wednesday afternoon hunt. Some hunters got shots off at Blue-Winged Teal and Pintail but very limited in numbers. Sorry we didn't get photo's of our hunters.

Duck hunting on this up and coming Sunday is again expected to be EXCELLENT! We are currently booked FULL for Sunday's hunt.

01-07-08 We will be holding our first afternoon duck hunt on Wednesday, January 9th for a limited number of hunters. This hunt will basically be for Black Bellied Whistling and Florida Mottled ducks only. We have extreme numbers of these ducks which have been coming in large flocks in the afternoons. Interested parties please contact Rita asap as this hunt will fill up fast.

01-06-08 Duck hunting today was EXCELLENT!

The numbers of birds were VERY HIGH. Extreme numbers of Black Bellied Whistling and Florida Mottled and large numbers of Blue-Winged Teal. The cold weather brought in only additional Black-Bellied Whistlers. Still no numbers of Pintails or Widgeons.

We harvested Black-Bellied Whistlers, Blue Winged Teal, Green Winged Teal, Florida Mottled and Ring-Necks. The largest species of ducks harvested were Black-Bellied Whistlers. Our hunters all limited on ducks or had the opportunity. The weather was beautiful for ducks (temp's in the upper 60's, light wind but blue skies). Some of our clients with full limits of ducks:

Our hunters today were only 14 ducks short of their 126 duck limit. Duck hunting on this up and coming Sunday is again expected to be EXCELLENT!

We are possibly going to be holding a Wednesday afternoon shoot for a limited number of hunters on this area. Persons interested should contact Rita to get on the list. We won't make this determination until Tuesday evening so it will be a short notice prior to the shoot.

01-02-08 Duck hunting Sunday was GREAT! The numbers of birds were MEDIUM. Medium numbers of Black Bellied Whistling, Blue-Winged Teal and excessive numbers of Florida Mottled.

The weather was great with light fog and overcast skies. We harvested the first Pintail of the season as well as Black-Bellied Whistlers, Blue Winged Teal, Green Winged Teal, Florida Mottled and Ring-Necks. One client harvested five species of ducks.

This Sunday's hunt should be Excellent with all of the cold weather. I believe this should bring down the ducks. We will post what we see on the areas before the weekend.

12-23-07 Duck hunting today was GREAT! Not as good as it has been due I believe to the FULL moon. We lost a lot of ducks placing client's into the blinds due to all the light. We probably lost 60%of our ducks before everyone reached their blinds.

The numbers of birds were HIGH. High numbers of Black Bellied Whistling, Blue-Winged Teal and large numbers of Florida Mottled.

The largest species of ducks harvested were Black-Bellied Whistlers. The weather was alright for ducks except for the FULL moon (temp's in the upper 60's, light wind but blue skies).

Pictures of some of today's clients:

12-19-07 Duck hunting today was EXCELLENT!

The numbers of birds were VERY HIGH. Excessive numbers of Black Bellied Whistling, Blue-Winged Teal and large numbers of Florida Mottled.

We harvested Black-Bellied Whistlers, Blue Winged Teal, Green Winged Teal, Florida Mottled and Ring-Necks. The largest species of ducks harvested were Black-Bellied Whistlers. Our hunters all limited on ducks or had the opportunity. The weather was alright for ducks (temp's in the upper 60's, light wind but blue skies). This hunt was identical to last Sunday's hunt except for a limited number of hunters.

Duck hunting on this up and coming Sunday is again expected to be EXCELLENT!

12-18-07 Duck hunting on Sunday was EXCELLENT! We didn't take any photo's after the hunt due to all of the rain, but this is one of the e-mail's we received:

Dear Rita and Mark (and Greg!)

Wanted to say thanks for accommodating us and putting us "in" the ducks today. We had a wonderful time and I have to say that I saw well over a thousand ducks ( literally ) today. We had the opportunity to limit, but came up short ( one day I will be a better shot!)

The pictures are of Rusty, Eric, Anthony and I - we came up 3 birds shy of 4 limits. It was a great day and we loved the weather!! Now that is duck weather!!

See you next week and thank you again for accommodating us.

All the Best
Kenny and Anthony

PS- Do you have room on upcoming hunts cause I think I know some more people that want to come. Let me know what you have and I will put the word out. Since I have you- might as well put us down for all the Sunday hunts until the end of the season.

"Life is short. Duck season is shorter- Hunt hard!"

12-16-07 Duck hunting today was EXCELLENT! The numbers of birds were VERY HIGH. Excessive numbers of Black Bellied Whistling, Blue-Winged Teal and large numbers of Florida Mottled.

We harvested Blue Winged Teal, Green Winged Teal, Florida Mottled, Ring-Necks, Fulvous Whistling. The largest species of ducks harvested were Black-Bellied Whistlers. Our hunters all limited on ducks or had the opportunity. The weather was good for ducks (over-cast sky's and light to heavy rain in bands and temp's in the upper 70's, windy). This hunt was identical to last Sunday's hunt except with MORE ducks.

Saturday's hunt was a bust. Once the shooting started, ALL of the ducks relocated to Sunday's area. Because of this we will only be shooting on Wednesday's and Sunday's on the Sunday area. This cold front should finally push some fancy ducks our way. Our next shoot will be Wednesday the 19th of December.

12-14-07 We will begin shooting on Wednesday's starting next week. The first shoot will be on Wednesday the 19th of December. We are only going to shoot the blinds located on the dikes (half of the blinds) on Wednesday's. This will be seven blinds total, up to three persons per-blind. We are starting this due to having too large a concentration of ducks. This is a good problem. If you look at the pictures below, the concentration of ducks have reached this on the entire 200 acre area.

Both duck hunts this weekend are expected to be EXCELLENT.

12-09-07 Duck hunting today (opening of second phase) was EXCELLENT. The numbers of birds were VERY HIGH. Excessive numbers of Black Bellied Whistling, Fulvous Whistling and Blue-Winged Teal and large numbers of Florida Mottled. We took photographs of the duck area on Saturday before the shoot:

These are Black Bellied Whistling and Foul-ups Whistling
around one of the blinds
Duck hunting photo's from Sunday's shoot

The hunters pictured in the first photo harvested 35 Whistlers, 1 Florida Mottled and 1 merganser. The young men in the second photo harvested 15 Whistlers and 3 Florida Mottled. The gentlemen in the third photo shot limits of Whistlers and Florida Mottled.

25 duck hunters today shot in excess of 130 ducks. We harvested Blue Winged Teal, Florida Mottled, Ring-Necks, Fulvous Whistling and Black-Bellied Whistlers. Our hunters all limited on ducks or had the opportunity.

Duck hunting next weekend will be on both Saturday and Sunday.

Saturday's hunters can expect mostly Blue and Green Winged Teal and Florida Mottled. This will be the first shoot on this new area this year.

Sunday's shooters can expect the same as described for today's shoot.

12-03-07 Duck hunting this coming weekend (opening of second phase) will be EXCELLENT. Sunday's area will be the place to be. The current numbers of birds are VERY HIGH. Excessive numbers of Black Bellied Whistling and Blue-Winged Teal and large numbers of Florida Mottled. We are bringing the water up into an additional 40 acres of area.

As of this AM, there were over a thousand Whistlers and over a thousand Teal plus several hundred Mottled, small numbers of Ringers and Widgeons feeding on the area.

11-26-07 Duck hunting this Sunday was GREAT. The numbers of birds were medium. We didn't shoot Saturday's area. We harvested five species of ducks. We harvested blue and green winged teal, Florida Mottled, Ring-Necks and Black-Bellied Whistlers. There were large numbers of Black-Bellied Whistlers and blue and green winged teal. Our hunters all limited on ducks or had the opportunity. Everyone harvested a Mottled and the rest of their bags consisted of mostly Black-Bellied Whistlers and Teal.

As of this AM, there were hundreds of Whistlers and Mottled ducks and over a thousand Teal feeding on the area. Opening of the second phase will be EXCELLENT.

11-20-07 Duck hunting this Sunday was only fair. We didn't shoot Saturday's area. We had problems with water control structures a week ago and didn't have the required water levels long enough. This has been resolved but just not soon enough. There were ducks but very high and not coming into the food source good enough. This will change this week and next weekend should be excellent. We did harvest six species of ducks. We harvested blue and green winged teal, Florida Mottled, Ring-Necks, Shovlers and a (hen) Red Breasted Merganser. There were large numbers of Widgeons and some Pintails but very high.

As of this AM, there were Whistlers, Widgeons and lots of Teal feeding on the area.

10-25-07 Duck hunting season is in few weeks. This year we have two impoundments in which to hunt. We will be shooting one on Saturday and one on Sunday. The condition of the areas at this time is Excellent. We will be hunting in the Everglades and Lake Okeechobee during the week by Airboat. Currently Okeechobee does not look too great. This could change depending on the water and the aquatics. The Everglades looks good. We will be running some pre-scouting trips during the next couple of weeks.

The first phase is November 17th thru the 26th.

We will be shooting:
Saturday, November 17th, 2007 (10 people) Mostly Teal and Mottled
Sunday, November 18th, 2007 (24 people) Every species listed below
Weekdays, Everglades and Lake Okeechobee   Mostly Teal and Ring-necks
Saturday, November 24th, 2007 (10 people) Mostly Teal and Mottled
Sunday, November 25th, 2007 (24 people) Every species listed below
Our Saturday and Sunday dates can be combined with Dove hunting in the afternoons if desired.

04-11-07 We have started the process of disking our first pond in preparation for this years planting. We will be planting Chufa again along with our Japanese Millet. We have already finished the aquatic spraying portion of the first pond so we are well ahead of schedule.

04-02-07 We have re-constructed our currents page to become species specific. We now have a current conditions page for each of our species offered located as a link from that species page.

We have started the development of our second duck pond. It will be larger than our previous pond by approximately 75-100 acres. We will have a total of about 450 acres within two ponds managed for our waterfowl hunts. Last year's Duck hunts were excellent. With the additional acreage for 2007, it should be an exciting season.

01-29-07 Sunday's (SEASON FINAL) duck hunt was GREAT. The numbers of birds were medium. Good numbers of most common species. The weather was good (over-cast sky's in the lower 70's, windy). We harvested blue and green winged teal, Florida Mottled, Ring-Necks, Fulvous Whistling, Black-Bellied Whistling, Pintails and American Widgeons, Shovlers, and YES finally (2) Green-head Mallards in South Florida.

The picture posted above is of both the mature drake below and the juvenile above. There were hen Mallards with them in the same flock. Ten (10) species of waterfowl harvested in one day by our clients.

The client's pictured above harvested 16 ducks total consisting of two green head mallards, six black-bellied whistlers, three fulvous whistlers, three Florida Mottled and two blue-winged teal. What a great season.

We will be adding another 200-plus acre retention area to our list of properties for next year's duck season which will allow us to have both Saturday and Sunday hunts for waterfowl. See you then!!!!

01-22-07 Sunday's duck hunt was GREAT. The numbers of birds were medium. Good numbers of most common species. The weather was good (slightly over-cast sky's in the upper 60's, light breeze). We harvested blue and green winged teal, Florida Mottled, Ring-Necks, Fulvous Whistling, Pintails and American Widgeons. Harvested seven species.

We had one hunter harvest one drake Mottled, one drake Pintail, one drake Fulvous, one drake Blue-wing, one hen Green-wing and one hen American Widgeon. What a great bag limit of six species.

01-15-07 Sunday's duck hunt was GREAT. The numbers of birds were medium. Large numbers of Mottled ducks. The weather was good (Overcast sky's in the 70's, light breeze). We harvested blue and green winged teal, Florida Mottled, Ring-Necks, Shoveler's and American Widgeons. We missed opportunities at Pintails which were limited in numbers, but had opportunities at seven species.

The duck numbers are increasing again due to the weather changes and due to the fact that we are no longer shooting on Wednesdays. The Mottled ducks are back in great numbers but still no Black-bellies.

01-09-07 Sunday's duck hunt was SLOW. The numbers of birds were LOW. The weather was poor (NO wind in the 80's (HOT) and BLUE-BIRD). We harvested blue and green winged teal, Florida Mottled, Ring-Necks, Shoveler's and American Widgeons. We missed opportunities at Pintails which were limited in numbers, but had opportunities at seven species. The large numbers of birds which we had were not present on Sunday for whatever reason. The full moon played a part in the birds not being as active but it was mostly due to the weather. It couldn't be worse for duck hunting.

There have been several hundred black-bellies on our areas for the past several weeks which we were harvesting a couple dozen or more every Sunday. I don't believe anyone even witnessed ONE on Sunday. Our clients have stated we were the Mottled duck capital of the world but on Sunday's hunt less than a couple hundred were witnessed.

The weather will be changing this week (finally) and we should be getting in a load of new ducks.

01-02-07 Sunday's duck hunt was EXCELLENT. The numbers of birds were high. Excessive numbers of Black Bellied Whistling ducks. The weather was good (light wind in the 70's and partly cloudy). We harvested blue and green winged teal, Florida Mottled, Ring-Necks, Fulvous Whistling, Black Bellied Whistling and American Widgeons. We missed opportunities at Pintails which were limited in numbers, but had opportunities at eight species.

This group (pictured) of nine hunters harvested 47 ducks. The ducks are going crazy over the flooded millet. The duck hunting is only going to get better and better from here to the end of the season.

12-28-06 Wednesday's duck hunt was EXCELLENT. The numbers of birds were high. Excessive numbers of Black Bellied Whistling ducks and Excessive numbers of Mottled ducks. The weather was great (light wind in the 50's and blue skies). We harvested Blue Winged Teal, Florida Mottled, Pintails, Black Bellied Whistling ducks and our first northern Mallard (HEN) ever. Several Northern Mallard (green-headed) Drakes were seen as well. I have included a Wednesday's testimonial from a first time client:

Dear Mark and Rita

I don't know if you use testimonials, but feel free to use this.
Thank you for the wonderful duck hunt today!! My son Anthony (age 11) shot 4 birds on his first hunt ( I was praying for one!!) We ended up with 9 in all.

I can't speak enough about the quantity of birds!! I have, as I said, hunted in three states and have never seen ducks in these quantities. Arkansas?- who needs to go that far!! After 10 years of living in Florida, and searching for quality duck hunting, I feel like I hit the jackpot.

I spoke to several of my friends on the way home - they must have thought I was nuts because I was blabbering on about how many birds we saw. Tomorrow I will be emailing my pictures to my hunting network buddies and hope to get you more referrals.

I want to express again, my sincere thanks for the kindness extended to my son, and to myself. You have given us both a memory that will last a lifetime, and for this I am forever grateful.

I realize now that my son is "ruined" as far as duck hunting goes- he'll compare every duck hunt for the rest of his life to that first one!! You will probably have him as a customer into your 90's!!

See you in two weeks!!

Kenny Burke

12-25-06 Sunday's duck hunt was GREAT. The numbers of birds were medium. Large numbers of Black Bellied Whistling ducks and excessive numbers of Mottled ducks. The weather was bad (Extremely FOGGY in the 80's, 100% Humidity, Low visibility until 10:30). We harvested blue and green winged teal, Florida Mottled, Ring-Necks, Fulvous Whistling and Black Bellied Whistling ducks. We had clients shoot full limits of Black Bellied Whistling ducks (six ducks each) by 8 AM.

12-21-06 Wednesday's duck hunt was GREAT. The numbers of birds were high. Large numbers of Pintails and Black Bellied Whistling ducks and excessive numbers of Mottled ducks. The weather was good (medium wind in the 70's and blue skies). We harvested blue and green winged teal, Florida Mottled, Pintails, Ring-Necks, and Black Bellied Whistling ducks.

Sunday's duck hunt will be awesome.

12-17-06 Today's duck hunt was EXCELLENT. The numbers of birds were very high. Large numbers of Pintails and Black Bellied Whistling ducks and excessive numbers of Mottled ducks. The weather was great (light wind in the 70's and slightly overcast). It was crazy at times. We harvested blue and green winged teal, Florida Mottled, Pintails, Shovelers, Ring-Necks, Fulvous Whistling and Black Bellied Whistling ducks. We missed opportunities at American Widgeons which were limited in numbers, but had opportunities at nine species.

This group (pictured) of five hunters harvested 27 ducks from one blind. The ducks are going crazy over the flooded millet. The duck hunting is only going to get better and better from here to the end of the season.

12-13-06 Today's duck hunt was EXCELLENT. The numbers of birds were high. Large numbers of Pintails and Blue-winged Teal and excessive numbers of Mottled ducks. The weather was great (light wind in the 70's). We harvested blue and green winged teal, Florida Mottled, Pintails, Fulvous Whistling and Black Bellied Whistling ducks. We missed opportunities at American Widgeons which were limited in numbers, but had opportunities at seven species.

This up and coming Sunday's shoot will be EXCELLENT. We seem to be getting more and more pintails and teal following the mallards to the fields as we keep increasing the water. We are now beginning to flood the millet as it matures so the teal should increase to excessive numbers.

12-11-06 Sunday's duck hunt was EXCELLENT. The numbers of birds were very high. Large numbers of Widgeons ,Pintails and Blue-winged Teal and excessive numbers of Mottled ducks. The weather was great (light wind in the 60's). It just doesn't get any better than that. We harvested blue and green winged teal, Florida Mottled, American Widgeons, Pintails, Shovelers and Ring-Necks. We missed opportunities at Woody's, Green-Heads and Whistlers which were limited in numbers, but had opportunities at ten species.

The duck hunting from now until the end of season is expected to be EXCELLENT. We currently will be hunting on Wednesday's and Sunday mornings. The plan is to begin hunting on an additional area on Saturday mornings as soon as the numbers of birds increase on that area.

Duck season reopens on the 9th of December as well and we will be holding shoots on Sunday's and Wednesday's on our private lands and on public lands at least two days during the week. The opening should be excellent as we are now getting some migratory birds in.

11-23-06 Wednesday's duck hunt was great. It was not quite as good as Sunday's due to a lower number of birds due to us not achieving the water height we needed, but it was still a great shoot. Several of the hunters shot limits of birds. Sunday's shoot will be excellent as we now have the required water and the numbers of ducks are increasing.

Sunday's Duck hunt was excellent. High numbers of birds. Next Sunday's will be even better as we are bringing up the water into the crops. Wednesday's shoot is already booked up but is expected be excellent as well.

Our photographer for our Duck area didn't get any great shots of ducks due to weather last week. He is returning on Tuesday. Next weekend is the opener of Duck, it will be excellent. Good luck everyone.

11-06-06 Duck hunting season is in two weeks. The first phase is November 18th thru the 26th.

We will be shooting:
Saturday, November 18th, 2006 (10 people) Mostly Teal
Sunday, November 19th, 2006 (24 people) Every species listed below
Wednesday, November 22nd, 2006 (10-12 people) Every species listed below
Saturday, November 25th, 2006 (10 people) Mostly Teal
Sunday, November 26th, 2006 (24 people) Every species listed below

These dates are going to be excellent shoots...we have a lot of birds...we have currently on the Sunday and Wednesday areas have Florida Mottled, Blue Winged Teal, Gadwalls, American Widgeons, Pintails, Woodies, Shovelers, Fulvous Whistling and Black Bellied Whistling ducks. This is nine species of puddle ducks. The only puddles we currently don't have is greenheads (which we never get) and green wing teal (which we should have in a couple of weeks). We will be posting photos of the ducks on the areas as soon as the photographer gets them to us. They should be really excellent photos. He started shooting the area today.

Book early for these shoots....its going to be great....

10-31-06 Duck season this year will be EXCELLENT. I have a professional photographer coming in week to photograph the ducks on the ponds. I will try to post some of them to give you an idea of what to expect. We have the largest density of ducks I have seen in years. We have a 200 acre pond with our water controls planted with chufa, japanese millet, milo, and mud plantains. This area is located directly next to Storm Treatment Area 5 for those of you who know how many ducks are located in there. We will be hunting on Sunday's and Wednesday's on this area during the first phase of Ducks. You will need to book early for these hunts...Call Rita asap

11-28-2005 Our Duck hunt this past weekend was a "9" with all shooters having an excellent hunt. Our hunters harvested bag limits of blue and green winged teal only this shoot. All of our hunters had more than their opportunity to harvest a limit of birds. Our next hunt will be on Saturday December 10th. This hunt will be excellent as well.

11-21-2005 Our Duck hunt for the opening weekend was a "9" with all shooters having an excellent hunt. We had hunters with great mixed bag limits of blue and green winged teal, shovelers, ringers and mottled ducks. We had hunters with limits in thirty-five minutes. Our next hunt will be this coming Saturday morning. We should have additional ducks, doves and snipe coming in with today's cold front.

11-17-2005 Duck open this Saturday and with the weather forecast it should be an excellent opening weekend. We have a large number of teal on our ponds at this time with reports from other local landowners and hunters with the same. On the years with high water it seems all of the teal migrate to the flooded pastures and smaller ponds.

10-18-2005 Ducks are looking excellent for this year. We have plenty of ducks at this time and with a couple of fronts we will be in great shape. Snipe is looking great as well. We already have snipe in our pastures.

10-08-2005 Our early teal hunt went excellent. We are planning on holding two shoots next teal season. We will have one on Saturday and one on Wednesday for 16-20 shooters each day.

The good news is with all of the excess water we are going to have excellent duck and snipe hunts this season. We already have good numbers of ducks on our duck areas and have witnessed numerous groups of snipe. We need a few cold fronts and we will be in excellent shape for the opening.

09-05-2005 Season is fast approaching. We are going to have an exceptional year. We are starting by offering hunts for the Early Teal Season.

10-25-2004 Our duck hunts will begin on the 21st of November. Everything looks great so far. We will have updates on the ducks as we get closer. All hunters should check back here for updates on doves and ducks.

05-12-2004 Duck season opens this weekend and we are loaded with ducks. We will be shooting on both Saturday's and Sunday's on two different areas. We will begin to update this page weekly now that we have our new office in place.

11-26-2001 DUCK SHOOT UPDATE-Sundays shoot was an excellent one. We had low hunter turnout due to thanksgiving weekend but the shoot was excellent. We will hold morning and evening duck shoots next weekend. Contact us for details.

11-20-2001 DUCK SHOOT UPDATE-Opening weekend of ducks was excellent. Saturdays shoot was great, Sundays shoot was excellent with all hunters achieving their limits of ducks. We had some excellent bags of ducks as well with hunters harvesting green-wing teal, blue-wing teal, mottled, shovelers, gadwalls, ring-necks and scaulp. Don't miss next weekends shoots.

11-16-2001 DUCK SHOOT UPDATE-We have openings on both our Saturday November 17th and Sunday, November 18th shoot (opening weekend) still available. Both are going to be excellent shoots. We are loaded with teal on both areas.

10-31-2001 SEASON UPDATE-Duck season begins on Saturday the 17th of November. Currently, we have some migratory birds starting to move in. We are loaded with teal and mottled ducks. We still have space available for opening weekend.

10-25-2001 SEASON UPDATE-Duck season begins on Saturday the 17th of November. As of right now, due to all of the rains season is looking excellent. We have lots of teal right now, and with this weekends front we hope to have many more.

12-11-2000 DUCK SHOOT UPDATE-Saturday we began shooting our smaller pot holes on the ranch which have been loaded with ducks. We had one client limit in 15 minutes with a mottled duck, two mergansers (one) hooded, and three blue-winged teal. He stated that several hundred ducks visited the pond he was located at. We had two other clients use almost two boxes of shells between them and only harvested five ducks. We have five areas such as these in which to shoot. We are only hunting each area once per week to assure this type of shooting. We are now booking duck hunts during the week as well as on the weekends and can arrange combination hunts if desired.

11-20-2000 DUCK SHOOT UPDATE-Saturdays duck hunt didn't go quite as planned. We had lots of ducks as expected but they were all Mottled ducks. We had hundreds of them with a one duck only limit. With this front today maybe things will change and we will get some teal in.

11-14-2000 DUCKS-DUCKS-DUCKS-We are stacked with ducks. We currently have Blue-winged teal, Green-winged teal, Wood Ducks, Mottled (Florida duck), Canvasbacks, Widgeons, Ring-necks, Fulvous whistling-duck, Pintails, Redheads, Shovelers and Gadwalls in large numbers. Season opens this weekend!

11-10-2000 DUCKS-DUCKS-DUCKS- Duck season begins next weekend on Saturday the 18th of November. We are loaded with ducks. We currently have openings for our first shoot on the 18th. The current plan is to shoot on Saturday's only on our new marsh. We can accommodate up to 12 shooters per day, once per week on this area without placing much pressure on it. Don't miss these great duck hunts.

Our first posting on our duck hunts was 11-10-2000. For those of you that read thru all of the posts for our hunts, it is interesting after seven years of posts to notice just how much our duck hunting has changed for the better.
